Only businesses acting within the scope of their trade, business, or profession can register to use John Pye Trade. This includes bidding in auctions as well as purchasing items through Buy Now or Make an Offer. Consumers (individuals not acting in a business capacity) are not eligible to register

There is no set minimum order quantity or spend when buying through John Pye Trade. For auctions, the minimum bid applies to each lot, and please note that lots or pallets cannot be split. The same applies when purchasing via Buy Now or Make an Offer— items are sold as listed.

Yes, you can bid on multiple lots in auction or buy multiple items through Buy Now. If you win a lot or your offer is accepted, you will be responsible for paying the total price of each item, including any additional costs such as buyer’s premium, delivery, and VAT

Once an auction has ended and the highest bidder has won a lot, there is no right to cancel the contract. Similarly, goods purchased through Buy Now or accepted offers are sold “as seen” with no returns unless otherwise explicitly agreed in advance.

Issues should be raised directly with John Pye & Sons; its decision is final, except in case of manifest error or negligence.

Failure to pay for items won in an auction or purchased through Buy Now or Make an Offer may result in your account being restricted, refusal to accept future bids or offers, and possible legal action.

We offer a number of types of delivery options within mainland UK, appropriate to the size and quantity of items to be delivered. International delivery arrangements and costs must be handled by the buyer.

Buyers can either collect items in person from the designated site or pay for John Pye Trade to arrange delivery. For confidentiality and security reasons, we do not allow buyer third-party agents, freight forwarders, or collection from offsite addresses.

Collection or delivery at a specific date or time may be possible if arranged in advance with John Pye Trade. However, we cannot guarantee exact timings, so please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Collection / delivery should be arranged promptly after your offer has been accepted or the auction has ended (as appropriate). Timelines for collection will be set by John Pye & Sons based on the type of goods and circumstances specific to the premises where they are located. For Buyers of items from a Buy Now Trade sale, the applicable times for delivery will be communicated to you by John Pye & Sons and the delivery carrier. Delivery and collection will need to be arranged separately for each location, and any associated costs will apply to each lot. We’re unable to combine deliveries from different locations.

Unless otherwise stated, goods are typically Secondary, this could include second-hand, salvaged, repossessed, ex-display, overstocks or seized. All items are sold “as seen,” with no grading or guarantee of condition

Goods are sold without warranties, conditions, or guarantees, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

Yes, where viewing of items at a John Pye site is offered, buyers may inspect and test most goods before making an offer, although clearly there are limitations, for example, testing electrical goods that require plumbing or use gas. If there are multiple items on one pallet, it may not be possible to test all items on a pallet. Viewing is unlikely to be possible if items for sale are located offsite, including at our vendor’s premises.
